Officer Marc Valenzuela (ret)

“Officer Marc Valenzuela began his career as an officer with the Phoenix Police Department in 2000. On May 14, 2016, Marc and his Sergeant were ambushed while responding to a home invasion call in Phoenix. Both were shot but Marc was able to stay in the fight and stop the threat. Marc subsequently received the Officer of the Year Award, the Police Shield, the Medal of Valor, and was named Top Cop during National Police Week in Washington D.C in 2017. His story of how this event, as well as his service in the Marines, affected his life personally and professionally is enlightening and encouraging. Marc retired from the Phoenix Police Department in 2021.”
