Military and emergency services such as law enforcement statistically lead our society in suicide, alcohol and substance abuse, domestic violence, divorce, depression, and Post Traumatic Stress Injury. These statistics are indicative of the serious lack of support and resources for law enforcement personnel, fire, EMS personnel, military and their families. Thus, the necessity for the creation of Under the Shield in 1992.
Under the Shield is a nonprofit organization that provides ANONYMOUS mental wellness services and proactive/preemptive training to Veterans, First Responders and their families. These services are provided at no cost to them, with help from donors like you.
Under the Shield has saved countless lives, marriages and careers through coaching and education that centers around The Simons Theory of the Psychological Garbage Can, based on the First Responder Lifestyle and explains Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) as an injury.
Sometimes even the ‘helpers’ need help. Your donation helps us support our first responders & veterans when they need it. Our Coaches are available 24hrs/7 days a week, to include weekends and holidays. The military and first responders do not work traditional hours, nor do our Coaches!
