David Cohen is retired from the Mountain Brook Fire Department where he most recently served as the Fire Marshal. David received his paramedic certification in 1978, an Associates Degree in Fire Science from Jefferson State Community College, a Bachelors Degree in Allied Health Administration from the University of Alabama Birmingham, and a Master of Arts in Human Sevices Counseling from Liberty University. David is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Education in Community Care & Counseling – Traumatology at Liberty University. He is also a graduate of the National Fire Academy Executive Fire Officer Program.
David retired from the Alabama Air National Guard in 1995 after serving 22 years as an Avionics Technician. He is also a member of the Board of Directors and a Licensed Pastor of FCF Ministries International, an evangelistic and world-wide missions organization, and has travelled to Trinidad, Harbour Island, Bahamas as well as Kampala, Uganda as part of a Mission Team.
David is certified as a Mental Health Coach by the American Association of Christian Counselors. He also serves as a Board Member, stress coach, peer counselor and mental health professional for Under The Shield, a non-profit organization that provides anonymous services to military, first responders and their families who may be suffering from trauma related stress. David and his wife Teresa also provide marriage coaching for public safety officers and their spouses.
David has been married to his wife Teresa for over 38 years. David and Teresa have three sons, two daughters-in-law, and three grandsons.
